A 1-Bit Reconfigurable Reflectarray With Improved Gain Bandwidth for 6 G Applications
This letter presents a wideband 1-bit reconfigurable reflectarray (RRA) with significantly enhanced 1-dB gain bandwidth for C-band applications. The improved performance stems from a novel wideband aperture-coupled magnetoelectric (ME) dipole unit cell (UC), enabling a 35% bandwidth with a phase shift of 180∘±20∘, and an optimized phase distribution across the operating frequency band. The proposed RRA demonstrates a 1-dB gain bandwidth of 28.5% and a peak aperture efficiency of 21.2%. A rear-mounted control board further simplifies bias line routing and supports scalable array expansion.
