The IEEE International Conference on Future and Intelligent Networking (IEEE FINE 2026) takes place on 26–28 August 2026 in Osaka, Japan.

IEEE FINE 2026 is a new international conference under the IEEE Communications Society, focused on future and intelligent networking technologies. The event contributes to advancing international collaboration on next-generation networking architectures, intelligent control, and scalable network intelligence.

Matti Latva-aho, Vice Rector for Research at the University of Oulu, serves as General Co-Chair of the conference.

Dileepa Marasinghe, AI-RAN Research Manager at 6G Flagship, University of Oulu, joins the plenary panel Evolution vs Revolution: The Future of AI-era Communication Networks on 27 August alongside experts from the University of Tokyo, the University of Toronto and Auburn University. The same day, he presents the invited paper “Perception-Aided AI-RAN for Industrial Physical AI Deployments”, authored with Shakthi Gimhana, Nuwanthika Rajapaksha, Praneeth Susarla, Niklas Vaara, Thushan Sivalingam and Nandana Rajatheva.

Mohammad Farhoudi, Doctoral Researcher at the Centre for Wireless Communications, University of Oulu, gives an oral presentation of the accepted paper “Quality-Aware Personalized AI Service Provisioning in UAV-Assisted 6G Networks” on 28 August, authored with Masoud Shokrnezhad and Tarik Taleb. The paper examines how AI services can be delivered to individual users with guaranteed quality in 6G networks supported by unmanned aerial vehicles.
