Phuong Tran

Phuong Tran is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Oulu’s Centre for Wireless Communications. He received his B.E. degree in Information Systems from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam, in 2020, and his M.E. degree in Big Data from Chung-Ang University, South Korea, in 2024.

From 2020 to 2022, Tran worked as a Software Engineer at Viettel Digital Services, Viettel Group, Vietnam, and in 2024 as a Research Assistant at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, conducting research in deep learning for physical layer wireless communications.

Tran’s research interests include applied machine learning for wireless communications, with a focus on cell-free massive MIMO, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, deep reinforcement learning, and deep unfolding techniques.
