FUWIRI – Future Wireless Research Infrastructure

The future society is data driven enabled by virtually instant and unlimited capacity wireless connectivity. This is the vision of FUWIRI that will provide the Finnish national infrastructure for 6G and beyond.

We shall address how the FUWIRI infrastructure is developed further to incorporate 5G long term evolution, open-RAN (O-RAN) technology, and basic technology capability for 6G experimental research as well as introducing the next generation AI/ML technologies for future networks. These development functions will enhance FUWIRI towards an integrated and commonly orchestrated 5G-6G-7G research, testing and experimentation platform, serving the increasing needs to digitalization, while highlighting the evolving nature of this environment towards 2040’s.
