EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026

June 2 - June 5
EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026 banner

The 2026 EuCNC & 6G Summit continues the tradition of merging two influential telecommunications conferences: EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications), backed by the European Commission, and the 6G Summit, which 6G Flagship launched and has hosted in Oulu since 2019. Sponsored by IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), EURASIP and EurAAP, the conference covers all facets of telecommunications, from 5G deployment and mobile IoT to 6G research, testbeds and future communication systems. Drawing over 1,000 delegates from more than 40 countries, it brings together researchers, industry and policymakers to share results and shape the direction of connectivity.

6G Flagship and University of Oulu researchers are contributing across all four days — through workshops, paper tracks, poster sessions, a panel and the demo floor — spanning resilient and sustainable 6G, THz and spectrum research, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, machine learning in live deployments and hands-on testbed work.

Demo · Booth 123

6G-VERSUS

Self-sustainable base station

An O-RAN base station modelled to run year-round on renewable energy — solar, wind and hydrogen. Visitors can adjust parameters and watch the energy model respond in real time.

Demo · Universities area

Digital twins for infrastructure

DigiPave & TEKU projects

AI-driven digital twins for pavement monitoring, developed under the DigiPave and TEKU projects. Uses JEPA-based semantic communication for data-driven infrastructure maintenance planning.

Demo · Keysight Booth 66

6GReMade · sub-THz sensing

Radio tomography imaging

A sub-THz sensing system that uses high-frequency radio links for radio tomography imaging — revealing objects hidden inside boxes and behind obstacles.
The communications side of the system is demonstrated via video at the 6G Flagship stand. Supported by 6G Flagship and Business Finland. In collaboration with Keysight and Virginia Diodes Inc.

Demo · 6G Flagship Booth 124–125

INTEGRATE · ML-assisted RIS for ISAC

Nokia Donation project

A reconfigurable intelligent surface acts as a power- and cost-efficient beamsteering base station in the emerging 6 GHz band earmarked for 6G. A machine-learning algorithm estimates the user’s location from received signal strength and angle, so the system beamforms accurately with minimal scanning.

Team also includes Duy Nguyen, Niklas Takanen and Muhammad Abdullah.
