DESCRIPTION:SPAWC 2026 is the 27th edition of the IEEE International Workshop on Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence for Wireless Communications\, held in the centre of Athens below the Acropolis. The workshop gathers researchers working at the meeting point of signal processing\, machine learning and wireless systems\, from physical layer design to AI-native air interfaces. \nFour researchers from 6G Flagship present their work at the workshop. Mengyuan Ma presents two poster papers on multimodal sensing-aided beam management for wireless communications: one develops lightweight beam tracking through knowledge distillation\, the other applies deep reinforcement learning to intelligent sensing and beam prediction. Chathuri Weragama presents a paper on energy-efficient coordinated multipoint transmission\, combining antenna selection\, beamforming and base station sleep modes. Sina Tavakolian presents a graph neural network method for designing millimetre-wave cell-free massive MIMO beamformers from sub-6 GHz channel information\, reducing the need for explicit millimetre-wave channel acquisition. SUMMARY:ESSERC 2026 - 52nd IEEE European Solid-State Electronics Research Conference
DESCRIPTION:ESSERC 2026 is the 52nd edition of the IEEE European Solid-State Electronics Research Conference\, the annual European forum for advances in solid-state devices and circuits. Backed by the IEEE Electron Devices\, Solid-State Circuits\, and Circuits and Systems societies\, it gathers researchers from academia and industry working on the semiconductor technologies behind future communication\, sensing and computing systems. \nThree researchers from 6G Flagship at the University of Oulu present accepted papers at the conference\, one each. The papers form part of the core scientific output of 6G Flagship’s research on devices and circuit technology\, which develops the transceiver and antenna implementations behind future communication and sensing systems at frequencies up to 300 GHz. DESCRIPTION:The Bharat6G Symposium 2026 gathers in New Delhi on 8 and 9 October\, at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre. The symposium runs alongside India Mobile Congress 2026\, sharing the same venue. Bharat6G Alliance organises the event\, bringing together regional and global 6G alliances\, governments and industry leaders. As a result\, the programme covers international research collaboration\, cross-border testbeds and pilots\, global standards and resilient supply chains for the 2026 to 2030 period. \n6G Flagship is represented by two speakers. SUMMARY:3rd Workshop on Energy-Neutral & Sustainable IoT Devices and Infrastructure
DESCRIPTION:Batteryless sensing works in the laboratory. Turning it into infrastructure that an operator can depend on means designing the sensor and the radio link together\, so that a node harvests what it needs\, measures when it can\, and transmits when the channel allows. EN-IoT 2026 brings researchers from both sides of that divide into one room to work through what still stands between isolated proofs of concept and scalable\, energy-neutral sensing systems that run without maintenance. \nThe workshop is co-organised by researchers active in European IoT and 6G initiatives that address energy-neutral devices\, low-power networking\, sustainable IoT and future connectivity. Topics span energy-neutral sensors\, ultra-low-power IoT\, wireless power transfer\, ambient IoT\, TinyML and sustainable electronics\, with particular attention to the interface between the sensor and the connectivity that carries its data. \nThe half-day programme runs as three 50-minute sessions. Contributions are invited by 2 October 2026 in the form of short abstracts\, demo proposals or challenge statements\, with no full paper required. DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Sensors Council is holding IEEE Sensors@25 for the 25th anniversary of the IEEE SENSORS Conference\, running a single track over three days with keynotes\, panels and interactive presentations. Under its Journal-Conference Synergy initiative\, the Council invited selected IEEE Sensors Journal authors to present their papers in those interactive sessions. \nTadashi Matsumoto presents on behalf of the Centre for Wireless Communications at the University of Oulu. The paper analyses error exponents and outage probability in distributed hypothesis testing\, where a sensor encodes and transmits quantised observations over a fading channel and a decision centre rules on a hypothesis rather than reconstructing the original data. Designing the link around the decision rather than the bits speaks directly to the goal-oriented and semantic communication questions that shape how 6G networks will carry sensing traffic.
